
MARDEN COMMUNITY PLAN
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This note describes the roles
and responsibilities of the Management and Working Groups.
The MANAGEMENT GROUP
that currently comprises John
Verrall (Chair), Chris Turner (Treasurer), Graham Tippen (Secretary/ Co-ordinator) and
John Banks, Kate Tippen (note taker) and Mike Lutener (Parish Council
representative).
should:
undertake detailed
planning and co-ordination of the project;
- establish Terms of Reference for the project and
timescales for delivery;
- define roles and responsibilities within both the
Management and Working groups, e.g. marketing, liaison etc.;
- define what is expected of Working Group and other
participants;
- manage and control the Plans finances including
identification of funding requirements and approval of expenditure;
- Liaise with external bodies such as local Councils,
Actions for Communities in Rural Kent, etc.
- agree final Action Plan with the Working Group and present
to Parish Council and the community generally with funding requirements.
- appoint Co-ordinator;
if appropriate:
- assist Co-ordinator in preparation of final Action Plan
THE WORKING GROUP
Currently comprising the 4 work
stream leaders (Ian Balmer (Economy issues), Richard Adam and Edith Davis (Transport and
Accessibility), Sally OBrien (Social and Community), and Kate Kershaw (Environment);
Maria Brown (with specific responsibility for Education and Schools issues) and other
willing and interested members of the community, representatives from Borough and Parish
Councils and local groups, clubs and societies and local
businesses, services and wider rural partnership members.
Should:
- complete the Healthcheck worksheets, collecting and
compiling the information under the guidance/ leadership of the work stream leaders;
- generate community involvement in the Healthcheck;
- organise workshops, questionnaires etc as appropriate
- address specific issues;
- contribute specific ideas and information relevant to
their area of interest/ expertise, e.g. business, local authority, community groups,
neighbouring villages etc.;
- research and evaluate those ideas;
- help report back the results of the Healthcheck back to
the wider community;
- work with the Management Group and Co-ordinator to draft
the final Action Plan with findings, proposals etc.
N.B. No expenditure should be incurred by the Working Group or any member of it, without
the authority of the Chairman or a member of the Management Group with delegated
authority.
