Minutes of the Marden Community Plan Working Group Meeting

held on Thursday 22 March 2007 at 8 pmat The Memorial Hall, Goudhurst Road, Marden

 

Present: J Verrall, G Tippen, C Turner, K Tippen, E Davis, R Adam,  M Lutener, K Kershaw, S Turner, E Doswell.

Also present A Hooker, Parish Clerk

Min 74: MINUTES of the meeting held on 11 January 2007 were agreed and signed as a true record 

Min 75: MATTERS ARISING: there were none 

Min 76: DISCUSSION OF DRAFT PLAN WITH THE PARISH COUNCIL

G Tippen expressed his disappointment that only the three Parish Councillors involved with the MCP were in attendance at this joint meeting. All present agreed.

Alison Hooker asked if the Group had seen the Marden School travel plan. It is designed to encourage children to walk to the School. The Governors wish to start a ‘school walking bus’ scheme in the village and KCC supports the idea for Marden. Richard Adam suggested that this could be incorporated into the MCP. The response from the Working Group was positive.

Cllr M Lutener reported that the MARDEN BUSINESS FORUM that had arisen from the MCP Open Days in June had held its Inaugural Meeting earlier this evening. It had been a great success with an attendance of 100+ and had been organized by Liz Stanley and Elaine Collins. The MCP Working Group offered its congratulations and wished the Forum success.

 Min 77: NEXT STEPS: The Parish Council will be asked to prioritise 6 overall from the whole list. It is important for the Business Forum to be represented at the Open Day.

 Min 78: NEXT MEETING: The AGM on Thursday 19 April 2007 at 8 pm. A short formal meeting at which, Sue Beer will be in attendance. It will be followed immediately by the: –  

Min 79: NEXT ORDINARY WORKING GROUP MEETING to discuss any responses from the Parish Council. The MCP Working Group will review that choice to see if it thinks that other things should go on. 

Min 80: OPEN DAYS: Friday 8 June, 6 pm – 7.30 pm       Saturday 9 June, 9 am12 Noon.  Venue – Vestry Hall or Memorial Hall (if free)
