Minutes of the Working Group meeting held on Thursday 18 May 2006 at 8pm at The Memorial Hall, Goudhurst Road, Marden

Present: J Verrall, G Tippen, C Turner, K Tippen, E Davis, K Kershaw, R Adam, E Doswell, J Robertson, A Gardiner

Min 47: MINUTES of the meeting held on 20 April 2006 were agreed and signed as a true record. 

Min 48: MATTERS ARISING: Min 44 – Open Days. G Tippen reported that he had extended the Vestry Hall booking to give time for setting up the displays. He had also arranged for posters for display in the local shops and pubs. He had made arrangements with the ’KMXtra’ deliverers to include the Open Days notices in their rounds. He had also contacted the Youth organizer. The Marden Scout Group has been asked to arrange the catering.

 

Min 49: REPORTS 

Environment: K. Kershaw reported that the questionnaire would be ready. E Doswell spoke of the ambition to establish a Heritage Centre. 

Transport: R Adam thought that the Worksheets should be on display at the Open Days. The first draft of the Transport questionnaire is ready and E Davis would e-mail it to all for general comment.

Social & Community: C Gosling had sent the Progress Report, which was noted. E Davis to e-mail it to Group Members

Economy: I Balmer was absent. No report.

 

Min 50:             OPEN DAYS ARRANGEMENTS: The matter of display boards etc. was fully discussed.

E Doswell said that the History Group’s boards could be made available for use on tables. The Vicar, J Robertson, offered the Church’s display boards. A check would be made following the meeting on whether the display boards held by the Parish Council would be of use.

G Tippen would add to the digital photos he has been taking and said that the aim is to show the diverse aspects of the Parish.

There will be ‘Grumble Boards’ and ‘Happy Boards’ with post-it notes for visitors to note either of the two categories.

It was agreed to hold an informal meeting at The Allens on Wednesday, 31 May to collate the material and to plan the displays. E Davis gave her apologies for that meeting and for the Friday evening. All Group Members now present would be present on the Saturday Open Day.

After the Open Days, each Group should summarize their findings and pass to G Tippen.

To give time to analyse the findings, it was agreed that the June meeting would be cancelled

 

Min 51: NEXT MEETING: Thursday, 20 July 2006 at The Memorial Hall, Marden

 

Min 52: AOB: The Chairman invited all Working Group Members to the meeting of the Business Community. This will be held on Monday 5 June, 12.30pm-2pm, at the Memorial Hall. Light refreshments will be available. All names to J Verrall. 

In reply to a query from J Robertson, G Tippen confirmed that this Traffic Questionnaire would be different from the recent KCC consultation.

 

This ended the business and the meeting closed at 9.15 pm
